How to Transfer a School Assignment from Phone to Computer

Move homework from your phone to a school computer

Your assignment is finished, but the presentation computer is not yours. Logging into personal email or cloud storage may leave an active session for the next student. A temporary browser transfer lets you move the assignment without exposing the rest of your account.

Open Drop on the school computer, scan the QR code with your phone, and select the assignment. The browsers pair for the temporary session and attempt to transfer the file directly.

Before class

• Export the work into the format requested by the teacher.
• Use PDF when preserving document layout is important.
• Give the file a clear name that includes your name or project title.
• Open it on your own device to check that the export is complete.
• Keep a backup on a device or storage service you trust.

A file-transfer tool moves the file; it does not repair a damaged document or replace a sensible backup.

At the school computer

• Visit drop.cs7.uk in the computer browser.
• Scan the QR code with your phone camera.
• Select only the required assignment.
• Wait until the download finishes before closing either page.
• Open the file and test slides, fonts, videos, or links.
• Delete the computer copy after class if the school permits it.

Protect your accounts

School and library computers may be shared by hundreds of users. Avoid entering personal email, messaging, Google, Apple, or Microsoft credentials when you only need to move a document. Private browsing is not a guarantee: downloads and screen activity can remain outside the private session.

If the school requires a learning-platform submission, use the official workflow and sign out carefully. Drop is most useful for moving the file to a presentation PC, printer, lab machine, or teacher-controlled device without an account login.

If the network blocks the transfer

Managed school networks sometimes block peer-to-peer connections. Ask the teacher or IT team about approved transfer methods. Do not bypass school security controls. If permitted, present from your own device or use an approved removable drive.
