But there is one important rule:

Do not log in to your bank account on a public computer just to print a document.

Why Public Computers Are Risky

A public computer is used by many people, and you usually have no way of knowing what software has been installed on it.

Malicious software such as keyloggers or spyware may secretly record usernames, passwords, or information displayed on the screen.

Even using Incognito or Private Browsing mode does not guarantee that your banking information is protected. Private browsing mainly limits what the browser saves—it cannot protect you from malicious software installed on the computer itself.

A Simple Printing Task Can Expose Your Bank Account

Imagine visiting a printing shop because you need a copy of your bank statement.

You open the bank website, enter your username and password, download the statement, and print it.

The entire process may take only a few minutes, but during that time an unsafe computer could potentially capture your login details or leave copies of downloaded financial documents behind.

A document containing your name, account information, transaction history, or balance may also remain in the computer's Downloads folder or printer queue after you leave.

A Safer Way to Print Your Bank Slip

Instead of logging in to your bank account at the printing shop, download the required statement, receipt, or transaction slip using your own trusted phone or computer.

Then transfer only the document you need to print.

If possible, use a temporary USB drive, secure file-transfer method, or send the document directly to the printing service without giving anyone access to your banking account.

After printing, remove the file from the public computer and check that no unnecessary copies remain.

For highly sensitive documents, using your own printer or a trusted workplace or family printer is preferable.

Never Share Your Banking Login

A printing shop only needs the document you want printed.

It does not need your online banking username, password, PIN, or verification code.

Never allow another person to log in to your bank account on your behalf simply because you need a statement printed.
